The Tech Museum always throws awesome premiere night parties. The one for The Hobbit was no exception! If you live in the Bay Area, I highly recommend going to at least one. They even changed up some of their exhibits (like the blocks are usually in English— you input your name and a robot builds it). So much fun.

Free Public NRP Lecture: Dr. Dr. Peter Diamandis on “Abundance”, Dec. 3, Bldg. 3 Ballroom at 7 P.M.
On Monday, December 3, 2012, at 7 pm, Dr. Peter Diamandis, Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, and co-founder of Singularity University (SU), will give a free,  public lecture titled “Abundance”. The Lecture is part of the NRP Exploration Lecture Series.  
Best-selling author, space entrepreneur, medical doctor and educational visionary — Diamandis will discuss the partnership between SU, ISU, X PRIZE and NASA; the use of technologies to shape the future of humankind and solve global problems; and the concepts of ‘abundance’ and persistence to achieve amazing results.
Lecture MC will be Dr. Robert Richards, Co-Founder and CEO of Moon Express, Inc.
The one-hour talk will be followed by an interactive audience Q&A.
Diamandis will also sign copies of his books, which must be pre-purchased and brought to the talk by lecture attendees.
